Church Of The Vine is an independent Bible-based Baptist church, that strives to fulfill God's purposes outlined in His word, the Bible.

We stand on the following essentials of the Christian Faith regarding:

The True God

We believe in one God, the creator of all things. He is infinitely perfect and externally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory and are one God.

(Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, He is co-equal with the Father. He was born of the Virgin Mary and became man without ceasing to be God. Jesus lived a sinless life, died for our sins on the cross to redeem us, and was raised physically and literally, from the grave after three days demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father, and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

(Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; 14:2; 14:10-11; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; I Corinthians 15:3-4; I Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14-15; I Peter 2:24)

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son as God. The Holy Spirit is presently ministering to convict people of sin and make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He lives in every believer from the moment of salvation, empowering them to live lives of godliness and service to the Lord. Additionally, He is the giver of spiritual gifts to every member of the body of Christ.

(John 14:16-17; 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12; 3:16I; I Corinthians 3:17; Ephesians 1:13-14; 5:18; Galatians 5:25)

The Scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is completely God breathed, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and infallible and inerrant in its original writings. It is the final authority and the supreme source of truth for faith and practice for all Christians.

(II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)

Man

We believe that man is made in the image and likeness of God, was created to have fellowship with God, but became alienated from God through Adam’s sin of disobedience. As a result, the human race inherited a sinful nature and choose to sin against God. Man is completely incapable of regaining a right relationship with God or to remedy his lost condition through his own efforts.

(Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 8:3-6, Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3; 4:17-19; Colossians 1:21)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a free gift to man by God’s unmerited favor and grace and is received only by personal faith in Jesus Christ whose death on the cross paid the penalty for man’s sins. Man can never attain salvation or God’s forgiveness by his own efforts. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

(John 1:12; 14:6; Romans 5:1; 6:23; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:18-19)

Eternal Security

We believe that because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the believer.

(John 10:29; II Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10-14; I Peter 1:3-5)

The Church

We believe that Jesus Christ established His church on earth, which is the body of Christ, is made up solely of born-again believers, and is commissioned to carry out His saving mission among all people from every tongue, tribe and nation. We believe in the autonomy of the local Church and we recognize water baptism and the Lord’s Supper as Scriptural ordinances for the Church in this age.

(Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-47; 20:28-32; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23; 5:25-27; 1 Peter 5:1-4)

Eternity

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind: the believer in Christ into everlasting joy, and the unbeliever into judgement and everlasting punishment.

(Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29; 11:25-26; Revelation 20:5-6, 12-13)

Satan

We believe that Satan is a created being, the author of sin and rebellion and the cause of the fall of man. He is the open and declared enemy of God and man. Because of his rebellion against God, and his leading astray a host of the heavenly realm and mankind, he along with those fallen heavenly beings that rebelled with him, shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.

(Job 1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-17; Matthew 4:2-11; 25:41; Revelation 20:10)
